A Note from Mommy
ah I love mornings like this. I put Kyle in his jumpy seat so I could do some cleaning. I sat down to work on a puzzle and Kyle gets cranky. I think nothing of it because he tends to do this when he sees me and he was trying to reach his te-te (pacifier) on the floor. I handed him his te-te and he calmed down for a little bit. I went to take him out of his jumpy seat only to find a nice little poop spot on his pajamas. I think oh well, at least it's a small spot, a quick diaper change should fix this problem. Ooooooh I should have known better! I opened up his pajamas to find it smeared all the way down to his socks. It was time to execute emergency poop explosion diaper maneuvers. Something I have come to know all to well. I took off the pajamas, grabbed a diaper, wipes, and new clothes and headed into the bathroom, all while holding Kyle out like he was a flying superman so as not to dirty myself. As soon as he saw the bathtub he started giggling, laughing and talking. I swear he does this on purpose sometimes just to take a bath. He loooooooves his baths. After he got all clean, I put him in his crib with a few toys and managed to save the pajamas and socks and came back to Kyle to find him on his knees pulling himself up on the side of his crib! Just another day in paradise :)

Cousin Week
Tornados, Butterflies & Dinosaurs, Oh My!

We went to the museum in Durham to go see the new dinosaur exhibit, Dinosaur Trail. Mommy, Daddy, Andrew and I piled in the car to take a family outing. I fell asleep at the very beginning of our museum visit. I woke up to see all the really cool stuff like the dinosaurs and space stuff. I also was able to ride for the first time facing forward in the Baby Bjorn! I was able to see everything from a whole new perspective. We also got to walk around the big butterfly enclosure. One butterfly almost landed on me! I liked looking at all the pretty flowers. I really enjoyed looking at all the dinosaurs & how HUGE they were! I also watched Daddy and Andrew dig for some shark teeth. Maybe I can borrow those :)

Faster, Faster Abuelo!!
I finally got to take a boat ride! After walking down to the dock and seeing the boat and watching everyone, it was finally my turn. I finally was going to be able to feel the wind in my hair! Luckily, we had a small life jacket that we bought last summer for Javi and Sylvia's niece. It was still a little too big for me but it worked! I loved being on the boat! I sat in Mima's lap while Mommy took plenty of pictures! I ended up falling asleep & can you blame me?
Shots
Stroke, Stroke...
Andrew got to go swimming with Mommy and Daddy also and he had a blast swimming and playing on the playground!
Daddy's Birthday
Daddy turned 28 this year. Mommy and Andrew helped bake a cake for Daddy and decorate. I'm still too little to help. Next year I should be able to help out and eat some!! Andrew made Daddy a card and Mommy helped me make a card too! She traced my hands and let me scribble too. I think he loved his cards and cake too!!
Komen Race Day June 13, 2009
June 13th was the official Komen Race for the Cure run. It's a 5K run/walk. We got there bright and early. We helped Mima man the T-Shirt contest area. There were a lot of really awesome T-Shirts! The Martins, T, Dan and Tony (the Pony!) were there along with Jackie and David. Mommy and T lathered me up with sunscreen right before we started walking. It was so early in the morning that the sun was right in my face. Mommy got to use her muscles and pull the stroller backwards so the sun wasn't in my face. Once we got to the neighborhoods around Meredith, Mommy was able to turn the stroller around but by then I had fallen asleep. What can I say? I got up early and the steady rumbling of asphalt under the wheels put me to sleep. Mommy was worried I was getting too hot. She walked me through sprinklers that woke me up because they were so COLD! They felt really good though. Afterwards, Abuelo, Mommy, Tia Coley, Tia Tori, the Martins and I went to eat some BBQ. It smelled so good! I can't wait for some teeth to eat some hush puppies! By next year I should be able to have some!!

Susan G. Komen Volunteering
I helped Mommy and Mima set up for store front so all the team captains could come pick up their team boxes. I helped Mommy move the tables. I also helped on the actual pick up days. Although I would rest for a few hours with LeAnn and catch a nap. Thank you LeAnn for taking care of me!! Thank you Janet for taking the pictures!!
Father's Day!!
Daddy got to spend the day with his two favorite boys and his Daddy. We spend the day lounging around the house and telling Daddy how much we LOVE him!! We love our Daddy! He's the bestest!!
Happy Mommy Day!
Mommy got to experience her first Mother's Day! Andrew, Mommy and I drove up to the lake to spend the weekend up there. Daddy wasn't able to come with us because he had to work unfortunately. We went to mass at St. Peters wit Fr Columba and Mommy got a pretty pink carnation. Mommy enjoyed spending time up at the lake with her two boys and her Mommy this weekend!
Easter Time
We spent the morning with Grandma and Grandpa. Then Mommy, Daddy, Andrew and I drove into Raleigh to visit Mima, Abuelo, Tia Coley and Tia Tori. We went to the park so big brother Andrew could play. I wore a new outfit from Daddy's Aunt Barbara that said First Easter. When we came back home, I helped hide some eggs for brother to find. I hid mine so well that it was the last one that he found! Once he found all of them he hid them all again so he could go look for them. Silly Andrew! I enjoyed spending time with all of my family today!
First Outing
I am now 2 weeks old and went out for the first time. I went with Mommy, Mima and Tia Coley to a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure meetings. All the ladies loved me! This organization is very important to me. My Mima is a 7.5 year breast cancer survivor! So I do all that I can to support breast cancer research. I slept through most of the meeting but I would open one eye every once in a while and look around and then fall back asleep. While Mommy went to the bathroom, LeAnn took me and held me. I was very comfortable and the meeting was very informative. :)
Splish Splash It's My Very First Bath
Mommy and I went to go drop off Daddy at work. Mima and Abuelo met us there so we could go to Raleigh to visit (Mommy still wasn't allowed to drive because of her tummy). It was time for my first bath! I still had my umbilical cord attached so I took a bath in Abuelo's side of the sink. I didn't know what to think at first. I cried when Mima turned the water off. I really enjoyed listening to the sound of the water. Mima turned the water on for me. Mommy was a little hesitant since it was her first first bath. Mima helper her out since she has done this 3 times! I enjoyed the warm water and cried when I got out until I got all nice and warm again. Boy did I smell good after having some baby powder and Cologna put on. I can't wait for my next bath!!
The Hospital Stay

After being born, Mommy was wheeled back to the room and Daddy pushed me in my bassinet. Everyone was waiting for us in our room. At around midnight after everyone had left, they wheeled us up to our recovery room in room 5W22. Mommy fed and sent me off to the baby nursery. I got to meet new friends in the nursery while Mommy and Daddy slept.
Abuelo put a Carolina Hurricanes logo on my bassinet. My Mommy and Daddy could always pick me out. Mima came and visited us every day and took care of me while Mommy and Daddy slept. I also watched my first hockey game in the hospital and they won!! I got a visit from the Martins and Grandma, Grandpa and big brother Andrew came and visited me. I was so excited to meet everyone! Mommy took me on walks around the fifth floor and then sent me to visit my friends when it was bed time (until I was hungry again!) After 4 days, Mommy was strong enough to go home. She was really nervous though. After taking a few pictures we gave Mima a kiss and waved good-bye to the hospital. We were off to begin our new life as a family!

The Beginning, 6 months ago......
It was early in the morning on March 27. I decided that today was going to be my debut. Tia Coley and Grandpa didn't have anything special planned for today (They had blocked out certain days and asked Mommy to ask me not to come on that day. Grandpa planned them around his hockey games and Tia Coley asked not on her birthday, March 20). So at 4:00 am I decided to wake up Mommy and let her know it was time, only she didn't listen to me! She got up and went back to sleep. No matter how hard I tried she kept ignoring me for 45 minutes! Finally at around 5:00 am Daddy woke up because Mommy kept getting in and out of bed. She told him that she was having sharp pains every few minutes. Daddy got up and got dressed while Mommy called Abuelo, who was working at the hospital that night. She also called the doctor. The doctor told her to wait about 15-30 minutes and if the contractions continued to come in. I made Mommy wait 5 minutes before she told Daddy to get the car started. Daddy went and told Grandpa & Grandma that they were leaving and gave big brother, Andrew, a kiss and off we went. Mommy called Abuelo and let him know that we were on our way. He met Mommy outside with a wheelchair while Daddy went and parked the car and brought up Mommy's hospital bag (she packed it 3 days before).
So Abuelo wheeled Mommy up to the L&D floor at UNC and got her all signed in. Then Mommy had to wait to be checked to make sure she was in active labor. They checked and she was admitted. As soon as she got into the room Mommy asked for an epidural and they were there within 5 minutes. Mommy's doctor, Dr. Lisa just happened to be on call all day. Mima arrived at around 7:00 am. Dr Lisa said that everything was going along great and fast and that I should arrive by noon. Mommy let Tia Coley and Tia Tori know (They had been texting all day :) ) Little did they know that I had other plans. Noon came and went. At around 5:00 pm Tia Coley and Tia Tori arrived along with our good friends the Moores. They all waited in the waiting room and Mommy tried pushing but my heart rate kept dropping. Dr Lisa decided that it would be best if Mommy had a C-Section. At around 8:00 pm they wheeled Mommy back to the Operating Room. I was so excited! It was almost time for me to make my debut! Mommy ended up falling asleep because they couldn't numb her fast enough. I was born at 8:18 pm, 7lbs 10 ozs. My Daddy was there to see me and hear me yelling. Daddy woke up Mommy and she heard me crying. Dr Lisa went to the waiting room to let everyone know that Mommy and I were OK and that I was a healthy baby boy!!
What a day!!
